No More Dogs!
The Search for Unconditional Love
When Steve and Bayu lose their beloved miniature poodle, the beautiful Rina, their hearts are shattered. Certain he can never give his heart to another pooch, Steve makes a vow: No more dogs. It’s a vow he has no intention of breaking. There can never be a replacement for the love that’s been lost.
But then, fate has a funny way of throwing spanners into the works. The first spanner comes in the shape of a skinny, white, Bali street-dog named Joe who infiltrates Steve and Bayu’s hideaway and falls head over heels in love with Rina a month before she dies. Joe doesn’t give a fig for anyone else. In fact, he’s a long way from being a cuddly bundle-of-joy. He’s a surly beast with a tendency to growl and bark when the mood takes him.
After Bayu helps put some weight on Joe, feeding him treats despite Steve’s admonishment,
it is Steve who remains determined to find a home for the stray pup as soon as he’s been checked out by the vet.
But, there’s something about Joe that makes it harder to get rid of the grumpy canine than Steve is expecting.
While plans to re-home Joe are on hold, the second spanner in the works, a tiny disheveled picture of woe named Temu, enters the story. Despite an unpromising health prognosis from the vet, Steve’s icy-heart thaws a little with one look into the street urchin’s big brown eyes. Will these two spanners-in-the-works be enough to make room in Steve’s heart, or will he hold firm to his vow?
This is an ultimately uplifting tale that will warm the heart of anyone who has ever given their love to man’s best friend and, especially, all those who have vowed “No more dogs”.
